Bavaria is one of the most prolific sailboat builders in Europe, and the Cruiser range in particular has been updated almost continuously since the early 2000s. That production history is good news for buyers — there are a lot of well-priced Bavaria hulls on the market. It does create one recurring headache, though: the same model number often covers two or three distinct hull generations with different companionway dimensions.

A Bavaria Cruiser 38 built in 2003 and one built in 2007 share a name and a general layout, but not a sprayhood. The coaming profile changed between those years, and fitting the earlier pattern to the later hull — or vice versa — means gaps at the edges, loose snaps and a cover that sits wrong on the hatch. The same applies across the Cruiser 32, 33, 34, 36, 37, 40 and 46, all of which were offered in multiple year variants with meaningfully different openings.

Every sprayhood in this collection is listed by model and year where the distinction matters.
